I, too, have an angst that our 10 game lead isn’t more. A part of me hopes we lock up the division with time left to set up our rotation and then hand all four of our last games to the Twins just to keep the Yank$ out of it.
Sox Bars – The wife and I had dinner at Phebe’s Saturday though there were wicked few Sox fans (probably up in Worcestah for the weekend). The Boston (212) Cafe is closed; also known as M&M Tavern, previously State of Grace.
For those that get NESN, my bro was picked for Sox Appeal. He was the guy that Remdawg kept laughing at during the game. On the commercials he has grey sideburns and is giving the girl a blanket. Can’t wait to see the episode.

Any Red Sox Themed Pub, with a picture of Roger Clemens in a Red Sox Uniform, is not a REAL Red Sox Pub, which is the case of “The Riviera”, where one Jim Mc Guire, once held court:
He & a few partners, now own Professor Thom’s at 219 2nd Avenue, between East 13th & East 14th Streets, in The East Village;
Bobblehead Dolls of Johnny Damon(Show Me The Money) & Roger Clemens(Will Work For Money), are displayed, mockingly. A PEZ Machine with the Head of Charlie Brown, wearing a Red Sox Helmet, is also displayed, as well as Wally The Green Monster, in his Deck Chair. The NOG has been there, as well as Bill “Spaceman” Lee. The Yankees are mocked there. One guy wore a Yankees Damon T-Shirt, & had it ripped up, though was treated to a few adult beverages;
There’s a mock-up of a Red Sox Road Broadcast, called Ka(y)reoke, named for Obnoxious Yankees Homer, Michael Kay;
NOW, That’s a Red Sox Bar-the food is good & reasonable, as well;
Also, nice & a bit intimate, is the “Hairy Monk” at East 25th Street & 3rd Avenue. Theo Epstein, BTW, did a Guest Bartender Stint, one Saturday Night;
NYC’s a great place to be a Red Sox Fan.
